If you aren’t watching the Super Bowl this weekend, it’s a good time to get tips to improve your skiing skills.
Crystal Mountain offers a free ride clinic for expert skiers Saturday and Sunday. This is an opportunity to learn from some of the best skiers in the country, including Ingrid Backstrom and Sturtevant’s manager Keith Rollins. In the January session, much of the session was held in the backcountry.
White Pass will have its Top of the Hill workshop this weekend, a lesson series for adults of all skill levels. The all-day lessons are $60. Register in the lodge at 9:30 a.m.
Stevens Pass will host a junior free ride competition Friday through Sunday on Cowboy Ridge.
Alpental is celebrating its 40th season Saturday. More festivities will be held later in the season. A benefit spaghetti dinner for the Summit at Snoqualmie ski patrol will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Alpental Lodge. The all-you-can-eat dinner is $5.
Mount Hood Meadows will host the Moe Dixon Show – a one-man ski-themed show – and will show the Super Bowl in its lodge Sunday.
The Legendary Banked Slalom, one of the state’s most popular ski resort events, is Feb. 8-10 at Mount Baker.
