National signing day: A look at Cal, Stanford and SJSU
This was one of the least exciting signing days I can remember.
That doesn’t mean Cal, Stanford and SJSU didn’t sign good players or fill their needs. But there wasn’t much in the way of big news or marquee names, unless you count Cal’s non-involvement involvement with Kevin Hart.
Hart, from a small town in Nevada, fabricated a story that he would be signing with Cal. The incident made the front page of espn,.com and even Yahoo! — as Jeff Tedford said himself, it overshadowed Cal’s actual recruiting class.
I’m not going to go through each school, player-by-player. For that, you can check the Merc’s coverage or that of 100 other websites. (Note: The Merc’s list is tough to follow: Cal recruits are first, followed by SJSU, then Stanford.)
